I’m approaching my 7 year blogging anniversary and I’ve never met another blogger. In fact, I thought blogging was a mostly individual activity before I discovered networks last year (no I don’t know how I missed them either). Soon after I joined Britmums there was lots of talk about Britmums Live and I couldn’t believe what I read. Firstly there was an event for blogger and secondly it was huge; hundreds of bloggers in the same place.
In a burst of enthusiasm I told myself I was going to be part of that in 2014. So now I’m looking for support to get me there and help me meet other bloggers and learn about blogging because despite the number of years I’ve been blogging I’ve discovered there is a lot I don’t know. In case you weren’t watching last year’s event in amazement like me, here is a summary of Britmum’s Live. It is the biggest annual blogging event for the parenting community and over two days there is the opportunity to socialise, learn new skills and build enthusiasm and creativity through workshops, debates and panels.
I’m looking for financial support to cover my ticket, train fare and hotel accommodation. In exchange I can offer the following for your company or brand:
- Introductory post on this blog
- Your logo, including a link, in my sidebar until end of January 2015
- Mention in my round up post after the event
- Posts shared on Twitter, Google +, Facebook and if relevant Pinterest
- Mention in some tweets during the conference
- Your logo on my business cards (depends on available time to get cards delivered before Britmums Live)
I see this as an opportunity to start an ongoing relationship instead of just a one off event, and therefore I’m happy to discuss other promotional methods if you have ideas about how we could work together. For example the following maybe relevant for some brands
- product reviews
- giveaways and competitions
- post or article for your site
- wearing your brand at the conference
- video reviews or posts
I started this blog ‘darktea’ in March 2007 (although I started blogging a year earlier on LifeJournal). I have a 5 year old daughter, almost half way through her first year at school, and a 2 year old son. We currently live in an old care home that we will be renovating into our family home. I work almost full time as an environmental consultant and have a personal interest in personal development particularly productivity and efficiency. I enjoy reading and capturing memories through diary writing and digital scrapbooking.
