Getting Things Done has a huge global following amongst people working towards improved productivity, while
Do It Tomorrow and Other Secrets of Time Management appears to be rising in popularity. I used
ideas from both of these books in the development of
my organiser and it is working very well.
I’ve been interested to notice over the last week that discussions on how the two systems can be combined have taken place on both the Getting things done and Mark Forster’s fora and of course I’ve provided my comments on both.
If you are interested in either of the systems I would recommend having a look. I’m always interested in knowing what other people think, so please let me know any thoughts here, or I’ll see you in one of the discussions.

After bumping into
Priscilla Palmer at the
Personal Development Partners forum she has kindly added this blog to her list of
personal development sites. It is likely that you have already seen a version of the list on other blogs, but as it has grown significantly since Priscilla first posted it I have added the full list, as it stands today, below. There are so many sites on the list there are still plenty for me to explore, but in case you are interested I have marked in bold (
edit: and underline) the sites I currently subscribe to.
I have upgraded to WordPress 2.3 today and it has caused a few problems with some of my plugins. The one that some of you may have noticed is the appearance of some of my book reviews in the rss feed. For now, I can’t stop my book reviews from showing on the front page or feed so I apologise if you are not interested in my fiction reading, but I will sort this as soon as I get my head around the new WordPress structure (or the plugins are updated).

My appearance on the mega Personal Development List

The two reasons I started this blog were to keep a record of my attempts as I work towards improving my life, and to practice writing in a more structured way than in my
livejournal blog. An additional bonus has been that I have also been thinking more deeply about my organisation system and the things I read to try and identify the clearest way to describe them in a post. I am sure this will continue and I believe will lead to greater improvements in my quality of life than if I hadn’t started this blog.
Something I hadn’t anticipated was connecting with other people. I know the current phase of the web is about connecting , and I do plenty of that through other sites, particularly bookcrossing and livejournal. However I am just one person writing in a new blog about my own attempts at trying to get organised, I wasn’t really expecting people to want to read my thoughts. Therefore, it makes me particularly happy that there are people subscribing to my blog and particularly Andrew at Did I get things done? who is the first person to add me to a blogroll.
This is a preview of
Connecting you now …
