In the last month (December 2007)

The last month has included Christmas, New Year and going back to work after two weeks on leave.  It has certainly been a varied time, but through this I have managed to pick up the number of posts I’ve written.  We still don’t have wireless internet at home, so unfortunately I am not making full use of my new laptop, but I can sort of understand why my husband  may be worried that I could spend even more time on the computer than I do now!

In the last month I have had over 1,550 visits to my blog (and over 3,500) page views and I have also gone over 130 subscribers, with a new high of 138.

The most popular posts were:

  1. How I successfully plan my day
  2. 15 different types of journal to keep
  3. Introducing my organiser
  4. Day planner download files
  5. Dealing with repeating tasks in a paper based system

The most bizarre search terms used to find my blog were

  • blog of my house extension
  • can you increase weight with guinness
  •  how old is kim woodburn
  • number of visits to bbc website per day

In the last month (November 2007)

Unfortunately I didn’t pick up the writing on my blog last month as I expected. I have a lot of ideas I want to write about, but unfortunately finding the time is the problem, and although I have been on leave for a week I have unfortunately needed to do some work as well as the usual festive activities. However, I am currently writing this post lying on my parents in law sofa on my new laptop. Yes, my husband bought me a laptop for my birthday and I am hoping it is going to make it easier for me to write posts both when I’m at home, but particularly when I’m visiting other people. At the moment though, we don’t have wireless internet at home so I have still been using my desktop.

The number of subscribers has reached a new high and are currently at 125, which is great, but also incredible considering my lack of posting, so thank you guys. I have also had my first (decent) request for a link from LinkWorth . The focus of this blog is not for me to make money and at the current rate it is going to take me so long before I’ve earned enough to receive a payment, but it is nice to know that some one thinks my blog is good enough to pay for an advert.

In the last month (October 2007)

During October I had a slight disagreement with my blog as it appeared to not like my posts and this was followed by a busy time at work. Together this meant my posting rate dropped significantly (only three posts in November), however interestingly November was one of my largest monthly earnings from Google Adsense. My subscribers has stayed consistently over 100 despite this lack of posting, but, to be expected, the number of comments has fallen.

The most interesting search terms that found my site during October/November were

  • Christmas post it notes
  • globalisation of ebay
  • house extension blog
  • kitchen wallpaper
  • mixed up chameleon project
  • wallpaper imagine

Again I would like to thank Rosemary at Daily PlanIt as my largest referrer during October /November, particularly as they are good quality referrals reading over 3 pages on my site.
The most popular posts were

  1. Dealing with repeating tasks in a paper based system
  2. How I successfully plan my day
  3. Day planner download files
  4. Introducing my organiser
  5. Using GTD to reduce negative environmental impact

In the last month (September)

over 100 subscribersI passed 100 subscribers during the last month, in fact I didn’t just pass it I stormed straight up to 114. Unfortunately I slipped slightly since then, but I am averaging exactly for the last 7 days. The number of visits has increased by 57% and the average time spent on my blog has increased by 1 second!

Gosh, the number of comments has really increased; there were 24 comments in the last month (excluding my replies). Unfortunately the spam comments have shown a similar increase, after passing 1000 in the last month, I’ve almost reach 2000 this month.

The most intriguing search terms were:

  • how to drive diesel car
  • approaching 30 list
  • exciting as
  • pyjamas USA

This month I would particularly like to thank Rosemary at Daily PlanIt as my largest referrer in the last month. Plus, it was Rosemary’s encouragement through an email conversation that spurred me on to provide my daily planner as a download .
The most read posts were

  1. How I successfully plan my day
  2. Dealing with repeating tasks in a paper based system
  3. Introducing my organiser
  4. Day planner download files

In the last month (August)

I feel it has been a more positive month for this blog as I am starting to post more regularly, plus I have spent some time to consider the most suitable type of posts and I think that will be helpful in taking me forward. My page hits have increased by almost 19% on the previous month and the number of subscribers continues to increases, I feel the 100 subscribers landmark may be in my reach soon. I don’t know who any of you subscribers are, but I do appreciate you and would love it if you introduced yourself.

There have been 6 comments in the past month, but unfortunately this has been overshadowed by passing the 1,000 spam comments (in fact they kept coming and the figure has now passed 1,300).

The most intriguing search terms were:

  • la cycle commuting routes
  • Lolita blog
  • Project one consulting
  • Book review of I am David

I would particularly like to thank Rob Gourdieas I have received the largest number of referrals from a comment I wrote on his post At last a time management tool that actually works – goodbye “To Do “lists!

In the last month (July)

It’s been a mixed month for my blog. I’ve transferred all my book reviews from my previous blogger site, and it feels good to reduce the number of sites I need to refer to.  I also feel that I am starting to develop a routine to my writing which means I am updating the site on a more regular basis.

The subscribers to my RSS feed has doubled in the last 30 days which is incredible, so thank you guys.  I hope I am writing about topics that interest you, but if I’m not please let me know. However, despite this increased readership it has been very quiet in terms of comments. My last comment was on 20th July, almost a month ago! Is this a sign that I’m not writing what you want to read, or that I could improve my writing to make it more interesting?

The most commented post was Something you may not know about me – I love reading so thank you @Stephen who provided two of the three comments!

In the last 30 days the most read posts were:

  1. How I successfully plan my day
  2. Organising my next action list (or my ASAP list)

In the last month (June)

The last month has been a quieter month for me between a combination of being away from home and being ill. I still wrote several posts, but I need to learn to be a bit slicker with my writing so I can cover the days when I’m not able to sit in front of my PC. However, I still received eight comments on my posts, so maybe it wasn’t a quiet month after all because that is exactly the same number as May. Thank you guys, it is much appreciated; I have been having some issues with the top commentators plugin, but hopefully once it is working again you will all get some link love from my site.

These are the most popular posts I’ve written in the last month.

  1. How I successfully plan my day
  2. Review of HDBizblog’s Calendar Page Project
  3. Is organisation transferable?
  4. A mixed week – blogs, clothes and organisation
  5. Wheel of life: Measuring development progress

In the last month (May)

Last month was an exciting month for me. In my review of April I said I was looking forward to my first comment, so thank you Corrie who wrote it, but also to @Stephen and Goal Setting College, in total I received eight comments.

So now I’ve received my first comment, what else is there to achieve? Ah yes, a working blog. After publishing a post on how exercise would benefit me, my blog disappeared to an error message (I’m trying not to take it as a hint that exercise and me are not to be). I am currently writing this and other posts on paper in anticipation I will get the problem resolved and my blogging career isn’t over yet.

With my lack of knowledge of php and being away from home it has taken me well over a week to resolve the problem and in the end I’ve resorted to deleting all the files and re-installing it, but hey it has worked.

These are the most popular posts I’ve written in the last month.

  1. Organising my next action list (or my ASAP list)
  2. How one task halved my to do list

In the last month (April)

I’ve now been writing this blog for two months and I’ve still got lots of ideas for entries so I will hopefully continue for many more. The biggest thing to happen in the last month was the response to a comment I wrote on a post on Aby’s organiser over at Creative Organizing. A large number of people have followed the link from that site to read my post introducing my organiser.   However despite that success I still haven’t had any (non spam) comments on the site and I’m looking forward to that moment.

These are the most popular posts I’ve written in the last month.

  1. Introducing my organizer
  2. Paper versus digital organisation (part one)
  3. So what did I achieve on my own?
  4. Sleeping my way to happiness
  5. Can I be organised on my own?

In the last month (March)

I first posted to this blog just over a month ago and how do I think its gone? I had intended to post more frequently, but have found it harder than I’d anticipated considering the long list of ideas I’ve got. I’ve been distracted by work, chores, tiredness and procrastination tasks such as hunting out the perfect theme for the blog. However I hope I am past the excitement of running wordpress for the first time and can properly balance providing content and improving the site.

I’ve found it exciting that people have actually been reading my entries, so thought it would be interesting to list the most popular five posts, out of my current nine, just in case you have missed one.

  1. In search of an organisation system
  2. Learning from burning buns
  3. Ratcheting down my weight
  4. Making happy people – book review
  5. Collecting ideas for an organisation system
