Got up at about 8 to get read for squash coaching at school. I remembered (at the last minute) I needed a pack lunch. Got sandwiches and left overs of pix and mix + some crisps. Was first there for squash coaching everyone else was brill. Crisps were disgusting but everyone else like them. In the tournament I lost every game. Went into town got cream and white jumper from Littlewoods. Got book on makeup. I also want the one on hair. Got The Goonies II. It is brill … Got to sleep quite quickly.

Had maths + French. Missed Geog because of speech day practice … When we started Miss G was waving her arms all over the place and we couldn’t stop laughing … We did netball at half two we went to audition we were hopeless it was better than walking up and down but we had to dance. Went shopping. Got memory book by Judy Blume. Had shower tried to curl hair with rags went totally wrong. Head kills from where S hit me with netball.

.. Maths is worse I hate it. We used the machines in French I felt so embarrassed because Mrs Hyham might be listening to me. In PE we did real movement with twinkly music. Latin + music boring. Did sports hall played bad[minton] At squash beat S 9-1. Lost watch … In Flute did oral I was awful. RE was good I got an A.

… D says I can’t get the stereo and that I can’t get any more equipment but when I have paid D for Nintendo I am go to save up. He can’t stop me. And it is only £79.99 and I have already saved £125.11. English was OK but we didn’t get books back. Drama was good we did about Fear. In French got B+. We did table tennis in PE …

I got up. Listened to dirty dancing (I’ve had) the time of my life and Love is strange on the way to bus … Art + Design was okay … Needlework is getting worse a[t] least we only have one more lesson this term. At lunch there was haddock and fish fingers. Went to netball might be improving. Maths is boring – fractions and I have to write sums in pen … Watched Home + Away + Neighbours. Did homework listened to Dirty Dancing which bought but not allowed video because it is a 15 Mum is mean. Mum help[ed] me tidy room. Came to bed found stereo I want wrote diary.

Got up caught bus … Chemistry was good we saw what they use in fireworks. In English we talked about a talk we’re each going to give I decided to do the Niagara Falls (I’m doing mine on Monday). Squash was brill and I’m not the worst. Got home had tea did homework tided room and found stuff for English … Went to bed and sorted things out for English. Read some of mum’s book Great Shape I’m a fast burner, that means I use up more energy than I make by eating etc. and I will stay thin whatever I eat.

Woke up at 7 when H’s alarm went off. Went back to sleep woke up at 9.30. H woke up at 9.50. Watched Walt Disney Club played mousetrap H won … Got dressed played park patrol but I turned off by mistake. Played world games by epyx. Good. H won everything except when there were faults. Tried making ice cream went completely wrong. Came home. Showed H Nintendo … Did some homework. Cooked some bars to much peanut butter ask J for her recipe. Finished Homework came to bed. Wrote diary.

I got up about 7 had breakfast, packed my things and got my piano book. Mum was complaining I was going too slow, but in the end I was waiting for her. Piano lesson awful … Went to H’s … Went to play squash. H won something like 9-6 and 9-8.

I woke up before 7 and I started getting worried because I thought my mum might forget to get me up. But she did remember … I left my books in my locker so after the harvest festival I had to go and get them … Swimming was good I want to swim for the school … Got some illuminous cartridges. Came home watched TV. Did homework. Went to bed wrote letter to Sally wrote diary with illuminous ink it is quite good

The illuminous ink may have been good ink 1989, but it is very difficult to read now and I can only read half the entry.

As I have started rereading my journals I am thinking about adding the post in to some software so I can search my writing and use my journals instead of having them just sit in a cupboard. I used lifejournal years ago and it currently has close to 500 entries, however I don’t know if it the best software for me now, therefore I have been researching the software that is now available.

I am intending to continue writing my journal hardcopy and then transfer it in to the software so I am not interested in features such as prompts or timer, but the facility to search the text and tag the text is essential. I have therefore split the available software into two lists, those that seem to meet my requirements that I will test and other software that maybe of interest to other people.
