This has been an interesting week so I wanted to write a quick summary to share two of my successes and one annoyance.
My blog
As I mentioned in my May review I ‘lost’ my blog; in the end it was for almost two weeks before I got it up and running again. However three days later it went down again and then again yesterday. I think I’ve now found the code which was causing the problem, but I still have no idea why it was intermittent. I am still trying to fully recover my blog as I gradually reinstall everything, but hopefully this time it will be stable.
I still have two more posts which I wrote while my blog was down which will be up over the next few days. The first is the next in my organiser series and is about my today planner and the second is my review of HDBizBlog’s calendar page which I trialled recently.

Clothes
As I work towards happiness, I have been making more effort with my appearance so it is now usual for me to wear makeup for work. I have also been making progress with my clothes, but slower. I have identified clothes which I don’t like when I wear them and removing them from my wardrobe which has reduced my clothes dramatically, which meant I had to go shopping. I have also started going through my remaining clothes and trying to organise them as outfits, I have to admit that I’m finding this difficult and I am jealous of Monica Ricci having someone to help her with a wardrobe makeover.
Anyway it is paying off, because this week I wore the outfit pictured which included a new top, skirt and shoes. I got compliments throughout the day from at least ten different people about each aspect of the outfit, particularly the shoes which was great because I haven’t worn high heeled shoes for several years.
Organisation
I had my annual appraisal this week and I was told that I was known by several of my colleagues for being exceptionally organised (it was also suggested that perhaps I should consider sharing some of my knowledge with other people in the organisation).
So considering the week together, I think its been a good one with two things which made me happy and one thing which has been frustrating, but which has a certain level of satisfaction because I believe I’ve solved it.
Thanks for mentioning me in your blog… it’s not too hard to cluster your wardrobe yourself the way that Katie helped me. It takes a little time but it makes a world of difference because you group clothing items together that will create several outfits. The other thing I wanted to say is that it really does make a difference when you take some time to pay attention to your appearance. When you look great, you feel great, and when you feel great, you can be much more confident and effective in your life.

Good for you on the appraisal! Being recognized for your organizational skills is always gratifying. Now you should leverage that into some blog posts about how you do it. I suspect that many readers would be interested.
Thank you for your comment Monica.
The reason I’ve been finding it hard to cluster my wardrobe is because I don’t think many of my clothes actually go together! However it has started to focus my mind on new combinations and on what items I’m missing.
Stephen, its interesting because I still don’t think I’m that organised! Outside of my organiser and my tickler file I can’t think of any special techniques.
I’ll have a think about it over the next couple of weeks and maybe ask a few people and see what I discover.
I just love those shoes in your pic. Nice smile also. I love reading your blogs they are quite interesting. I too am light on the make up use, I think it looks better that way.
Stephanie,
Thank you for the comment, those shoes are one of my most successful purchases, I get a lot of compliments on them. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to wear them this summer as my feet swelled with my pregnancy, but I look forward to wearing them again next year.
I always had a heap of unwanted clothes in my wardrobe but I developed a habit to give them to others. I feel very happy when someone desire them and can wear them.
Yes, I can empathize. I have way too many clothes that I don’t like myself. Always good to find a new home for them.
Well this all sounds possitive stuff to me. Just happened about your blog, so i am pretty far behind on your journey so far, so will be reading some of your other entries to get up to speed.
I too have too many clothes, and half i hate, and the other half i cant fit into, but i keep them incase my taste changes or i loose some weight. Hit me a few days ago that some of them are small on the arms, which will never change, so guess i will bag em up for charity
Ed Hardy,
Yes it is a good idea to pass clothes on to other people. Unfortunately I dislike shopping so much that I tend to wear my clothes until they are not suitable to pass to anyone else. Perhaps this is something I should work on.
Jeff felt hats,
Thank you for your comment. While I was pregnant I packed up all my clothes as I couldn’t fit into them, I am hoping as I unpack them I will take the opportunity to get rid of the ones I don’t like. Unfortunately I am a little off fitting into most of them at the moment.
OK.. SO I’M A FASHION KIND OF GIRL AND I STUMBLED ON TO YOUR BLOG AND I MUST SAY WELL’DONE ON TRYING TO CHANGE YOUR APPEARANCE! I LOVE DOING MAKE-OVERS BUT THE BEST KIND OF MAKE-OVER IS WHEN YOU NOTICE IT YOURSELF AND ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!
