How was January for you? It went incredibly quickly for me, so quickly I feel that I was constantly running to catch up. But I know many people thought it was a very very long month.
Whether January was long or short for you, I’m sure you achieved more than you think. This is certainly true for me, I was so focused on getting to the next thing that I didn’t take time to recognise that I was making progress. And as James Clear says in Atomic Habits “You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results.”
Yes it is sometimes small, but progress is progress and I want to celebrate my progress and help you celebrate yours. What did you start, progress or achieve last month?
Here are the things I want to celebrate:
I finished:
- reading Sleep Smarter – it feels like the first book I’ve finished in months
- Planning car sharing lifts to get children to dance show classes (with the help of some other lovely dance mums)
I started:
- exercising at the weekend using Les Mills on demand subscription which I can do in my lounge
- working with a designer to do a rebrand
- a new course which I hope will help me rethink how I approach creating content, meaning I’ll produce consistently
I progressed
- my marketing course
- Putting together a system to plan my week using Amazing Marvin, I’m loving its flexibility but also a bit overwhelmed by the amount of options
I enjoyed
- Playing lots of board games, with Splendor [my review] being the most played
- Watching my daughter sing at the 02 arena as part of Young Voices, the largest school choir
- Looking at some beautiful sunrises and sunsets
I’d love to cheer on your progress, because we need the recognition and motivation that it is good to be making small changes. They are the small beginnings that with perseverance will help us make big changes. So what do you want to celebrate?
