This week has been about keeping moving. I’m not sure why things have felt so difficult, but it has been a struggle to get the basics completed; maybe it is because I haven’t been having high quality sleep or perhaps it is an impact of B telling me she is sad at school.
BUT; I have a vision of a tidy, decluttered house. I know my personality and I have to keep working towards this every week, because if I miss a week I know I’m likely to miss a second and then a third and then I’ll give up. So having reviewed the other two drawers in my bedside table and not found any items to remove, I decided I didn’t have the energy to start on my clothes, and I broke my rule of moving clockwise around the room.
I chose two drawers that were close to becoming junk drawers. The first one really only needed tidying and although I removed a lot of items from it, I’m keeping the hairbrushes and styling tools but have moved them to a more logical place. The second drawer used to be in the kitchen of our old house and has old paperwork in it waiting to review.
This week I’ve recycled
- Instructions for curling tongs I no longer have
- A 2012 planning diary (to do lists and shopping lists)
- Several leaflets I picked up at a local craft fair in 2012
As I haven’t got a picture of the items I’ve decluttered this week, I thought I’d share one from my teens that gives an indication of the length of my clutter habit. How old is your clutter habit? How did it start?
