Earlier this month I passed my 11th anniversary of starting this blog. This anniversary always makes me think about what I’m achieving with my blog and what I want to write about going forward.
Currently I’m not finding it easy to blog as much as I’d like due to home commitments, starting a new role and doing a coaching course. But I still love it so I’m pleased I’ve kept going and I’m fitting in a few posts. So, if I’m going to write fewer posts I want to make sure they are on topics that you want to read. Therefore I would love it if you can answer my annual reader survey (also embedded below).
I could use my post popular posts from 2017 as a guide. However, I know these get a lot of visitors from Pinterest and Google so they may not reflect what you my regular readers are interested in. Do these posts interest you? If I wrote more on these topics would you come back to read them?
- 15 different types of journals to keep (written 2007)
- 23 ideas for the first page of your journal or notebook (2010)
- What if I do it wrong (2015)
- How to start a personal journal (2008)
- 15 suggestions for old diaries and journals (2014)
I’m also interested to know how I can engage with you better. I’m not finding it easy to use all the social platforms and as a consequence feel that I’m losing my motivation to use any of them. I find this sad as I love engaging with people on social media.Which are your favourite platforms and what type of posts do you like to read?
2018 outlook
I want to use my time better in 2018 and that means accepting I can’t do everything and be everywhere. Therefore I want to focus on topics and social media platforms which interest you.
Two posts I’m also keen to include are book reviews as my reading has slowed down and old journal entries because I stopped reading my 1992 journal as it wasn’t fun, but I suspect it will be good for me to finish it.
Glad you’re still going. It’s definitely hard with everything else going on. But you seem to have a standard blog theme of a couple of niches. Unlike mine where I have a main audience, but getting enough content for that is hard, so it’s still a mish mash
