Making progress? September 2007

September 30, 2007 by Kate Davis 1 Comment

I feel I could have made more progress during September than I have. I have been feeling very tired, which is a consequence of being very busy at work and not having had much leave this year. However, I’ve just had a week away from work so I’m sure all my energy will be back soon.

Goal – although I haven’t completed the brainstorm exercise as part of the Goal Setting College tutorial, I did do a brainstorm inspired by what I discovered when I completed the Past, Future and Present review and I’m sure this will be useful for when I do complete the next exercise.

Fitness – I haven’t been as strict about exercising everyday as in August, however I am now able to cycle the route to work in a quicker time and I think I will soon be confident to commute to work on my bike. I have also lost 2kg in weight to 66.4kg, although this may not be realistic as most of it has come off in the last week and a half after losing my appetite due to a cold.

Tasks – My task list has got out of control and is written in several different places at the moment, although I am in the process of rewriting it and having just one list again. I currently have a backlog of 79 days, an increase of 11 days!

Books Read I have not done much reading in September and most of what I have read has been ‘comfort’ reading.

  1. A gathering light (Amazon)
  2. The princess diaries: take two (Amazon)
  3. The princess diaries: third time lucky (Amazon)
  4. The princess diaries: Mia goes fourth (Amazon)
  5. The first rider’s call (I actually read this one twice, but I’m only counting it once)
  6. Mel (Amazon)
  7. Priestess of the white (Amazon )

This means I’ve now read 47 books out of my target of 75, I don’t think 2007 is the year I’m going to met the challenge, but I’m not too disappointed I will have to try again!

About Kate Davis

I'm a working mum of two children, and I'm keen to make the most of what is important to me. This starts by capturing information whether it is a photograph or a task list. I love a process and try to find the most efficient method of doing things from organising photographs to planning a house renovation. I believe everything benefits from being simpler.

Six books for the month, for a start that is really good. You have said that you are not a very avid reader, and I think that 75 was a little too ambitious.
As for your task list, may I suggest that it may be time to consult this post for a little help?

Welcome

I'm a working mum of two children, and I believe everything benefits from being simpler. Although I'm not as good as I'd like at achieving simplification. I often get caught up on writing lists or planning the most efficient method of achieving things instead. Read More…
