My 2018 journal

By Kate Davis 2 Comments

This is the journal I’m using at the start of 2018 although it isn’t actually a 2018 journal. I started this journal on 30th August 2017 but as I use undated notebooks I’ve just continue last year’s journal.

My 2018 journal is an orange castelli notebook and I write in red Diamine ink

It is a Castelli* notebook, the same as my 2016 and 2017 journals, and was a great gift from a work conference. I like the Castelli notebooks because they have narrow lines and are great for fountain pens as the the paper is smooth and the ink doesn’t feather or bleed through the paper. I now have a fountain pen I keep by my bed especially for writing my journal; I bought it from a fair, direct from the person who made it from some wood he was given (I think it is maple). I’m currently using red Diamine ink* and occasionally use their Red Lustre ink* which has gold sparkles.

I like the Castelli books so much I considered only using this brand and producing a rainbow effect if I put them on a shelf, but discovered they don’t make them in yellow. So as I was given a beautiful notebook for my birthday this is likely to be the last Castelli I use for at least a little bit.

Are you writing a 2018 journal? If you haven’t and would like to remember you can start at any time and not just 1st January.

About Kate Davis

I'm a working mum of two children, and I'm keen to make the most of what is important to me. This starts by capturing information whether it is a photograph or a task list. I love a process and try to find the most efficient method of doing things from organising photographs to planning a house renovation. I believe everything benefits from being simpler.

I have just bought an Ottergami journal. How far did you get in the rainbow?

I’ve actually been using different types of journals recently, but have just gone back to Casselli. I had red and orange before and I’m now using blue, so I’m not doing well on the rainbow!

Welcome

I'm a working mum of two children, and I believe everything benefits from being simpler. Although I'm not as good as I'd like at achieving simplification. I often get caught up on writing lists or planning the most efficient method of achieving things instead. Read More…
