It’s my 10th blogging birthday! I’m surprised I’ve been blogging for 10 years, because I often feel like a beginner as there is still so much to learn and implement. But then it is also hard to remember a time before my blog; it has been in my life longer than my children. At times, I feel I SHOULD be a bigger blogger as I started earlier than many bloggers, but in reality I haven’t Continue Reading …
Reader survey results – what you want to read
So your answers to my reader survey have been interesting reading; thank you to everyone who responded. I’m certainly feeling a bit challenged by some of the results and directions you’d like me to go. Get more personal Your favourite post types are How tos / Tutorials and Personal. Both of these are challenging for me as I don’t do many things that immediately make me think that would make a good tutorial and I Continue Reading …
2015 blog review
Last year, December especially, was brilliant for me as a blogger, and I’m hoping it is the starting point for even greater things in 2016. Highlights include: being invited to events like Food photography workshop with Nikon and Wine tasting at Royal Horseguards creating a local blogging group Oxfordshire Bloggers and meeting great local bloggers spinning off my list of blog events onto its own site Blog Events UK introducing a newsletter which has over 80 subscribers traffic explosion Continue Reading …
Blog review June 2015
As I want to keep improving my blog I think it is important to review progress and to decide areas to focus on. Last year I did a review every month, but didn’t feel I was gaining much from it, so I planned to do quarterly reviews this year. However, here we are six months in and I’m doing my first one, but at least it means I have lots of data to review. The highlight Continue Reading …
2014 blog review
2014 was a good blogging year. My main highlight was going to my first blogging conference and meeting other bloggers; in fact once I realised how much I enjoyed them I went to another three (my conference posts are Blogcamp, BritMums Live and Blogfest). Other highlights include: creating videos showing the changes we’re going to make to our house participating in Twitter chats joining Instagram creating a Google+ group to provide a place for people to Continue Reading …
Blog stats – October 2014
It is strange to look back on my stats for October when I’m at the end of November which has been a tough blogging month for me. I’ve had lots of ideas about posts, but my time has been spent elsewhere. I remember reading once a comment along the lines that the gaps in diaries are when people live life instead of write about it, and maybe that is where I’ve been over the last four Continue Reading …
Blog stats – September 2014
Is this blog moving in the right direction? I think it is staying stationary or maybe even moving backwards especially if you look at the subscriber number (although that could be an issue with Feedburner), plus the comments are continuing to reduce. I think I’m suffering from not knowing where I want to go with this blog, although I’m starting to get a clearer idea. I mentioned a few posts ago that I’m on a Continue Reading …
Blog stats revew – August 2014
I’ve delayed writing about my August stats because I’ve been wondering if there is any point to them (again). I like having the record of where I am, but are they interesting to anyone other than me and do they actually tell me anything. Plus am I looking at the best figures? When I developed my spreadsheet that creates my monthly infographic I purposely excluded page views and visitors because I wanted to focus on my Continue Reading …
