Who will you trust with your journals?

February 29, 2016 by Kate Davis 4 Comments

who will you trust with your journals?

Diaries and journals can be very personal documents so it can be hard to think about who to trust with them. I’ve seen several comments from people saying their diaries are boring or too personal so they have either destroyed or plan to destroy them because they don’t want anyone to read them, (you can see some comments on my post 15 ideas for old diaries and journals). This really bothers me because I think of all Continue Reading …

March 2015 Project 365

March 365

Okay then, I admit I’m not up to date with my Project 365 layouts, but the key thing is I’m still making progress. Time has been a problem, but also the fact that my laptop memory is full so I’ve struggled to review pictures. I’m not sure I’m completely happy with the papers I’ve chosen for some of these layouts (particularly the last two that appear to be a bit psychedelic), but finished is better Continue Reading …

P365 February 2015

I’ve slipped a little bit on my weekly layouts and I’m two weeks behind despite my new Project 365 organisation system. However, it is important with Project 365 to keep going and if I reach the end of December just two weeks behind I’ll be very happy. How are you doing with your Project 365 pictures? How are you planning to share them? Lots of things happened in February (weeks 5 – 8) including going to Continue Reading …

January 2015 Project 365

February 9, 2015 by Kate Davis 8 Comments

This is the third year I’ve done Project 365 and I love the snapshot of life provided by the scrap layouts I produce. This is the year I’m going to finish my layouts so I can make a book at the end of the year, and thanks to my new Project 365 organisation system I am doing well producing a layout each week. During January we changed all our windows and doors. This has been Continue Reading …

March scrapbook layouts 2014 (Project 52 / 365)

August 12, 2014 by Kate Davis Leave a Comment

It is easier to keep up to date with Project 52 / Project 365 when you do them regularly because you remember where to find the files and the order to do things so each one is finished quicker. I’ve been focussing on my layouts recently in an attempt to catch up so I’ve completed the layouts for March already and hope to finish April soon as well. One of the things I love above being Continue Reading …

February scrapbook layouts 2014 (Project 52 / 365)

July 27, 2014 by Kate Davis Leave a Comment

The aim with Project 52 / Project 365* is to keep up to date with layouts because there is already another week happening. I’m not doing as good as I’d like with this as I’ve recently just completed my February layouts, however I intend to catch up before the end of the year. The templates I’ve created are working really well, but I’m finding it difficult to identify appropriate pictures quickly. This is a general Continue Reading …

January scrapbook layouts 2014 (Project 52 / 365)

May 7, 2014 by Kate Davis 6 Comments

I started 2014 with a new plan for my Project 52 / Project 365* layouts, having learnt a lot from my first year in 2013 (yes I admit I haven’t quite finished the pages yet). I like the simple approach of using just papers and no embellishments so I simply rotated the template so it looks different to last year’s layouts. I also improved my templates so it is easier to mix and match the Continue Reading …

Sibling scrap pages – March 2014

April 23, 2014 by Kate Davis 18 Comments

A busy month with lots of opportunities to take photographs of the children, and these scrap pages include the reduced number of random shots! I love seeing how they interact and enjoy each other’s company. We’ve also had a major milestone with B riding her bike without stabilisers for the first time, and very successfully. All supplies – Scrap Girls I’ve finished these pages just in time to include them in the Sibling linky and Continue Reading …

Sibling scrap pages – January 2014

February 16, 2014 by Kate Davis 4 Comments

Every month I take some every day photographs of the children, a mixture of posed, on the sly and at their request. I think in many ways these pictures capture their true characters so I don’t want to lose them into the depth of my computer. So every month I aim to do a layout for each child and one for them together which I will include in my year book when I have it Continue Reading …

Welcome

I'm a working mum of two children, and I believe everything benefits from being simpler. Although I'm not as good as I'd like at achieving simplification. I often get caught up on writing lists or planning the most efficient method of achieving things instead. Read More…
